MEDICAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH FACILITY

MERF supports research and training in medical devices, implants, biomaterials, and surgical equipment and techniques from concept to completion, including consultation, development, testing and reporting with state-of-the-art surgical theatres, pre-clinical laboratories and tissue culture facilities. The custom-built Anatomical and Surgical Skills Lab is regularly used for training surgeons, other health professionals, theatre nurses and technicians. On-site industry representatives on-site also enable to bring the newest technologies directly to the hands of those who use them.

Institute of health and biomedical innovation

IHBI is a multidisciplinary health and biomedical research institute devoted to improving the health of individuals and communities through research innovation. Investing and combining technology (including a human motion lab) and expertise to build research capacity for translation of knowledge into products and services in health technologies.

Lab for Advanced Modelling and Simulation in Engineering Sciences

The LAMSES laboratory carries out advanced research in tissue biomechanics, fluid dynamics and nano-technology. LAMSES examines force regulation in physiological behaviours of tissue and cartilage, computational methods and multiscale modelling in fluid dynamics, nano-particle and nano-surface mapping, and numerical simulations.
